Thank you for the reminders about the censuses, and no, I haven't ruled out that TGW Murphy may have up and left. Considering how the family was split up on the 1860 census, I am very realistic that this is a possibility.
But, as I said in my post, the only information I have on TGW Murphy is some land purchases and two marriage certificates. I cannot seem to locate the 1850 census containing Rachel and Jackson (son George not born until 1856)
I appreciate you taking the time to post the info on son George, but I already have a solid idea what happened to the Murphys after 1860.
I was simply hoping that someone somewhere may know a different something more than I know on Thomas George Washington Murphy. He's become a rather frustrating wall and as I live in California on an extremely limited budget, I am not in a position to scour the depths of Illinois archives.
