Timothy Nally, one of the pioneer residents of Marion township, died at his home at 4 o'clock Sunday morning after an extended illness of the infirmities of age.
Mr. Nally was born in County Clare, Ireland, about eighty-four years ago. He came to America in 1860; was married to Miss Bridget Corcoran at Lakeville, Conn., in 1864; and came to Illinois in 1865.
Mr. and Mrs. Nally located on the farm which has since been his home in the western part of Marion township. They prospered and added to their holdings, and he became one of the substantial men of that locality. He had a large acquaintance, and was widely known for his jovial good nature. Mrs. Nally died eleven years ago.
The surviving relatives are three sons, John of Rockford, Timothy and Martin of Marion township, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Carver, of Byron, and Mrs. Anna Bursing of Marion township, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from St. Mary's church, Byron, on Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. Fr. A. J. Vollman, assisted by Mrs. Barrat of Rockford, soloist.
