I am searching for ANY information on Russell Wilson HARDESTY born about 1907 in Ogle County, Illinois. He married Eunice Irene PHILLIPS born about 1913 in La Cross, Wisconsin, date and place of marriage unknown.

Russell was the son of Allen W. HARDESTY and Lula M. [Unknown]. The only information I have found is a 1910 Ogle County census entry from Pine Rock Township, Village of Chana. This lists:

Allen W. - 55 - laborer - b. Ohio; parents both b. Maryland

Lula M. - 35 - wife - b. Illinois; father b. Vermont; mother b. Illinois

Ethel M. - 14 - daughter - b. Ohio

Flora E. - 11 - daughter - b. Ohio

Viola M. - 5 - daughter - b. Illinois

Russell W. - 2 - son - b. Illinois

The census entry also shows that Allen and Lula had been married for 19 years and that Lula had 6 children, 5 of whom were living in 1910.

If anyone can help with this family, I would be VERY appreciative.

HARDESTY

My great great grandfather, George A Brown, The last Civil War soldier to die in Oregon, IL, took in William T. Hardesty at the age of 4, after his mother died, and his father, Samuel, apparently died soonafter. At the time they were living in Washington Grove.
I have William's obit, mentioning his sons, Harold and Robert, and how William was active in the church of God, and "a Christiam man in every respect."
He was buried in Riverview Cemetary.

Thanks,
K. Allen, Oak Park, IL

Rev. George A. Brown, who resided in Washington Grove at one time, was the younger brother of my great-great grandmother, Martha A. (Brown) Hunsdon. Martha was married to Edward S. Hunsdon, and they resided in Ogle County.

I would be interested in any information you might have about George or about his parents/family.

Thank you,

S. Cramer

To K Allen ~
I am also a descendant of George Atwood Brown (2nd great grandfather to me). I have cousins that lived in Oak Park, IL with the last name of Allen, hopefully you are one of these Allen cousins! I have a great amount of information on our ancestry if you would like to contact me. We then could share our information privately. I have been trying to find more information on the HARDESTY boy that Grandpa Brown took into his care.

Looking forward to your contact.
