I am the granddaugher of Ida Easling Wells a sister of Perry, I have done a lot of research on the family. My mother is still living she is 88 and quite sharp of mind, she is the granddaugher of William and Lydia Easling. Williams mother died in childbirth, Nathaniel left him with a family by the name of bull, returned when he was around 4 after remarrying a got William. I have a lot of information on all of these people. I am the grand daughter of William Quentin Easling. Son of Perry, grandson of William and Lydia. I happen to have marriage,military and death records ect for William(son of of Garrett and Hannah McLallen, grandson of John George and Hannah Rawmocker. I didn't collect this info but came in to it. Am currently interested in verifying it. Info if correct states Nathaniel wife (cherokee) died when William was 4 while living on the strip. This says William went to live with a family by the name of Bull. I would be greatful for info.

I am interested in any connection to this Mercer line, marriage/death/obits of William F. Mercer (1850), m. Leona/Lenora unknown maiden or birth year.

The following are census findings, of William's parents Thomas Mercer & Minerva nee Allen 1850-1860.

In the 1870 census I find two William Mercer's 6 miles a part, one living with a Lenora Baggs, b. abt. 1828, IL and the other with his sister Caroline/Charlotta nee Mercer Briley. I am pretty sure both Williams the same person and since notes of my cousin has William m. Leona, I presume Lenora is whom he married abt. 1871-1873.

First born George Allen Mercer, Sep 1873, IL, found in 1880 census, no parents. My presumption is both William and Leona/Lenora died after 1873, bef. 1880 in either Union or Polaski Counties.

Looking for information about Ruth Buhl Jones born April 2, 1852 in Tennessee and died January 30, 1950 in Oregon. She had four children Car C., Edson LaVossa, Allen and Kelpie Kelsie Jones Clapp.
Carl died in 1958 in Albany, Oregon he never married no children. Edson married Cassie Verle Godwin Jones and had two children Daniel and Beulah they stayed in Foster/ Sweet Home, Oregon. Allen I was told married a Margaret and stayed in Knox County, Tennessee. Kelpie married Rush Toomey Clapp and had one daughter Margaret Stella, Rush died in Kentucky I have been unable to located what happened to Kelpie or Margaret after his death, they lived in Knox County Tennessee when Edson died in 1951.
I'm look for information about Allen and Kelpie's families as well as Ruth's husband Daniel A. Jones.

Thanks for your post. My post was from a long time ago.

I actually have found three Nancy Eleanor Adams in the family. There is Nancy E. (1801), the daughter of Abraham & Catherine (Swartzlander) Adams and two of her neices; Nancy E., daughter of Abraham S. & Margaret S. (Lanham) Adam, and Nancy E. (1821), daughter of John F. & Rebecca (Hinkle) Adams. These two are first cousins with Abraham and Catherine as grand parents.

It all gets very confused. My wife's line is from Abraham & Catherine to John & Rebecca and their daughter Nancy who married Abraham Sargent. John F. (1799) and Nancy E. (1801) are siblings. And just to increase the confusion, Abraham Sargent & his wife Nancy E. (1821) are first cousins.

I, too, am a Terrell/Tyrrell descendant. My great-great-great-grandmother was Lavina (Terrell) Losey. She and her husband, Solomon Losey, are buried at Fairmount Cemetery that is on Michigan Road in Madison, Indiana (near the Ohio River). A few feet away is a gravestone that is marked Alexander Tyrrell, 1835 -- 1902. The family plots for the Tyrrell and Losey families are next to each other.

Looking for anyone connected to Augusta C Malm. I think she was born in Sweden or US, depends on what you look at, in 1867. Married Charles E Peterson 1890 in Ophiem, IL. They lived in Lynn Center the rest of their lives. I can't find her parents and thought I'd check Mercer Co. There is a Ann E Malm in Richland Grove, Mercer Co, IL in the 1880 census but I find no other information on any Malms in the area that would be a match.

Yesterday I discovered this wonderful index and am wondering if I look at the FHL films [848589] and [848590] if they contain dates of deaths on the indexed pages. Is this the best way to obtain death dates for these people? I assume that if these are copies of the DAR records they will include dates. I did find some obituaries on-line also, but not for everyone.

Yes, my Dodsons lived in Joy, and near Oquawka before that. Jonathan Dodson died in Joy in 1912 and is buried in Peniel (sp?) Cemetery. I believe his father was B.S. Dodson, who moved from Henderson County, Illinois to Cedar County, Iowa. Do you have Dodson connections?

Services will be held at the Faith Chapel in Muscatine. The Rev. Ron Yohe will officiate. Burial will be at the Drury Reynolds Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Frieden, Matt Frieden, Mike Frieden, Nate Frieden, Greg Lair and Wayne Tompkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh, Jake, Tom and Matt (Freddy). Visitation will be at the Geo M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to the Faith Chapel in his memory.

Mr. Frieden was born on Aug. 11, 1939, in Eliza Township, the son of Lester H. and Blanche Terrill Frieden. He married Nancy Snyder on June 12, 1959, in Muscatine.

He was a member of the Faith Chapel in Muscatine. He was founder of Frieden Excavating. He was a farmer in the New Boston area. He loved God, his family, church, farming and excavating.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of New Boston; four sons, Bill Frieden and his wife, Traci, of New Boston, Matt and his wife, Sue and Mike and his wife, Christine, all of Joy, Ill., and Nate, at home; three daughters, Laura Lair and her husband, Greg, of New Boston, Deb Tompkins and her husband, Wayne, of New Boston, and Joni at home; 11 grandchildren, Josh and his finance, Kelly, Jake, Tom, Matt, Randi, Ashley, Tyler, Emily, Jordan, and Whitley; his father, Lester of Eliza, Ill.; two brothers, Wilbur of New Boston and Randy of Aledo, Ill.; and two sisters, Florence Sell and Alta Turner, both of Eliza.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother, in infancy, and a sister, Lois.

Woods family living in Viola, Mercer Co. in 1800's - photo

I have a photograph of a "Mr. & Mrs. Woods & Family, Viola Illinois" taken in the 1800's. The photograph was taken in Aledo, Ill.

There are 6 children plus the parents - 4 boys, 2 girls. The youngest is a girl, the 2nd youngest is a boy, and the 4 oldest are 3 males and a female (the older 4 are teens/young adults in the photo).

Does this ring a bell to anyone?

I'm interested in "talking" with others interested in the family of Rensaellier _Melville_ GRAHAM and Serena Ann LAFFERTY. Mel GRAHAM was my g-grandfather. His parents were Mary STEWART and James GRAHAM. I think this GRAHAM family arrived in Mercer County in about 1841-2. (They had
come from Pennsylvania, I believe.)

I believe that James was buried in Alexis, IL, in 1879. Does anyone know where?

I'm especially curious to learn if Mary STEWART GRAHAM's twin sister, Maria STEWART, was in Mercer County, too.

I have an Aledo cem rec for John Dickson Eakin 1838-1918 & some of his family. My interest is w/his daughter Mary. The cemetery lot shows her as Mary Eakin Cunningham 1879-1915. Does anyone know the given name of her husband? Was he from Aledo?
Besides John Eakin & daughter Mary, also in Lot 110 of the first edition is John's mother Margaret Dickson Eakin 1795-1880, another of John's daughters, Carrie (Eakin) Allison 1874-1939 and two more women, but I do not know how they are related. They are Hannah Eakin 1830-1894 and Elizabeth Black Eakin 1838-1918.

Stephen (b.Jan 3, 1860 Ohio/d.May 22, 1885 and buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Village of Assumption, Amboy Twshp., Fulton Co., Ohio./Katherine(Frank) Myers (b.Jan. 29, 1857 IL/d.Sept 8, 1855 and buried at the same.

Gladys M. Crapnell was the Niece of Fred Crapnell (married a Moseley, a Cassin descendant) by way of her Father Chrales.

my name is fred miller, my father was fred e milller,his father was fred miller, his father was john thomas miller, his father was thomas miller. they came from indiana to eliza township, bought land in 1840. the pullens,reeds,mcgreers,thorntons,spitznogles are all connected family thru marriage. alot of them are buried at the miller cemetery.

I'm related to the Cassins and I know that Mary Cassin married Frederick Crapnell. My maiden name was Dodson, and I know that Earl Dodson married Gladys Crapnell -- I'm connected to the Crapnells on both sides! my grandmother was Lettie A. Herriott and her parents were Albert S and Lovina (Gangawear) and his parents were John and Martha (Thompson), and his parents were Nataniel and Martha (champers) and his parents were David and Ursula(Foreman) does any of these names match any of your info that you have. Im looking for info if you have any that can help me for these were my fathers mothers family. Lettie married John H. Rust in Pittsburgh, PA and they are buried in Hillcrest cemetary in Hermitage, PA my dad was one of six kids 5 boys and one girl. any info you can give me will help thank you.
