William Stevenson purchased land in Sangamon Co., IL on 22 May 1830 from James Alexander. On the following day, 23 May 1830, Miles Stevenson also bought land from James Alexander; William Stevenson signed as a witness, along with Thomas Clark.
William Stevenson made additional land purchases on 23 May 1830 from Henry Morgan and on 27 Jun 1830 from Wm. Morgan.
The William Stevenson family appears in the 1830 Federal Census of Sangamon County IL, on property next door to Miles Stevenson. The household of William Stevenson, page 20/153 lists the following:

The 1830 census also lists the following heads of families: Robert Stephenson (age 30_40) living near John and Thomas Constant; Robert Stephenson (age 60-70) living next to Mordecai Mobley; James Stevenson (age 40-50 with a male age 80-90 in the family) living near John Clemmons - this is the James & Margaret Clinton Stephenson family of SC and Caldwell Co., KY; and James Stevenson (age 20-30).
When Calvin Stevenson died 21 Dec 1833, the names of Milton Stephenson, Alexander Stevenson, and Thomas C. Stevenson appeared in the probate file #158 in Sangamon Co., IL.
On the 26th day of Sept 1835, William and Miles Stevenson signed the guardian bond (file 244 in Sangamon Co., IL) for Thomas Calvin Stevenson (born 29 Apr 1834), minor heir of Calvin Stevenson, deceased. William was appointed guardian. On 20 Oct 1851, William resigned as guardian because he had "removed out of the state of Illinois".

He married Deborah Irwin. He and his wife were yearly campers at the [revival] meetings at Rock Creek.
They had seven children. One son, John, a soldier in the Civil War, was captured at Guntown, Miss., and was a prisoner in the Andersonville prison at the close of the Rebellion." «24

David F. Stevenson stepped on a rusty nail at the farm of Arthur and Debby Irwin Brown in Cantrall, IL. As a result, he developed gangreen in his leg, and eventually died of the ensuing complications.

"We now have a letter (or several small pages of family information) that was in the second Stephenson bible. We have the envelope and it is hard to read, but it is addressed to "Mrs. Nancy Brunner, Pleasant Plains Sangamon ill". The post marks are hard to read also, but seems to have come from MO and also marked in Pl Ju 4 Ill, which would be at least 2 months later. It says it is a "True Copy" and it appears to have been written by Nancy Fletcher Stephenson.
At the end of the first part it has "Nancy Stephenson died December 1, 1887" written in a different hand. A page later (written in Nancy's hand) it has this:
