We have a great deal of information on the BUSICK family at our society, The Fort, in Lexington, IL. We have a huge book with photos, notices, as well as many obits. I was trying to help someone but if she or someone else is interested in our holdings on these families, they really should come see what we have. I am only related through the Harness family so these are not my personal findings.

C Wallace Busic married Ellen Young Popejoy of McLean Co in 1880, moved to Nebraska. Also, would like to know if the Lexington Cemetery has photos online? Thanks for your time.

Yes, I believe we have that Busick information but no, we don't have cemetery photos on line. Our holdings are just too massive for that. Since 1965 we have recorded every cemetery in 4 counties. Each person listed on a stone has a page in our cemetery books and where possible, an obit. Some have photos but most do not. Putting photographs on the cemetery pages would endanger the safety and quality of our books. Now, with digital cameras, we are hoping researchers will submit their photos and we scan those onto the back of the page. Popejoy is another long standing area name. Are there others you are looking for?

Also please check our website. Just google THE FORT. it should come up.

I would love to visit the Fort sometime. I visited with Verda Gerwick years and years ago. Names from McLean Co are Popejoy, Arbuckle, Busic. What kind of information do you hold on Busic? Do you copy for a fee?

My only connection is to Mahala Harness and that's very distant. My paternal grandmother's grandmother was a sister to Mahala. I'm just trying to help you b/c I'm a volunteer at The Fort. I worked on it last week and didn't get through all of it so I'm planning to work on it more this Saturday. I would really encourage you to come see what we have on the families if you possibly can. My email is nmkauth@ilstu.edu

If you are not in the area of The Fort at Lexington, IL, would you like us to copy what we have on the Busick, Popejoy, and Arbuckle families and mail the information to you? I will need to check on the fee but it's 20cents a page plus a small prosessing fee. Or you become a member for $15 and then copies are 15 cents. We have a great deal of information on the Busick families and probably on the other 2 families as well. I am not related.

I am not really related. I am a charter member of the society at Lexington, IL [The Fort] and I know that Busick is one of our earliest families and that we have had several members over the years. I often work on non-related families and try to bring their information up to date.
