Henry Crawford and his wife Elizabeth arrived in McHenry County between 1848-1850. They had children Esther who married a Deitz, Sarah, Jesse, Harriet, Grassa, Armita/Annita.
They were originally from Derry Township, Columbia Co., now Montour County, PA.

After 1850 his first cousin Charles Crawford and his wife Fanny left Lycoming County, PA and settled in Woodstock, McHenry County, Ill. They had children Margaret, Charles and Susan go with them. The older children Andrew, Newton, Caroline, Jacob, Matilda and Ellen were born between 1829-1839.
