I am looking into purchasing a historical property at 202 School St. known at the Robert Waugh House and refurbishing it to it's original condition. I know this house is in serious disrepair but it is beautiful and a dream. I was wondering if anyone had any historical information about the house, the history of the area, and what was going on in 1870 in the area the house was built? This would not only help be to rebuild this house, but also give me more appreciation for it.

If you have access to the book, Sparland , Il Sesquicentennial 1855 to 2005, there is information on the Waugh home, built about 1886. This home is on the National Register of Historic Places, as of 1978. More information could be found at the Marshall county Historical society, located in Lacon, Marshall Co., Illinois.
