Looking for information on William FINN born abt 1820. He was married three times. Twice in Marion County and once in Gallitin County. The last one could of been in Kentucky. First William married a Nancy BARR on 16 Dec 1839. No date of births or death. Any info on this and even possible ancestry of wives. The second one was Mamcy Malinda Pasely. Married on 8 Dec 1840. Possibility that they might of died during child birth. There are two different William FINN'S in the Marion County area at this time. No connection in relationship yet. But the concensus is that they maybe cousins. The last one he married was a Sarah Barnett. This is her married name from her first marriage. Thank you for any help you might have.

I have alot of the cemetery inventories but only the ones that have been published for sale.

You might try looking for them in the Hillcrest Cemetery. I know alot of the people I was searching for are in this cemetery. This cemetery won't allow the Historical Society to publish their inventory.

Patricia

I believe they may have resided in or near Kell, IL, which is in Marion, CO, IL.
This is my second request. I am tracing a line that I believe plugs into my Jones line.

SAMUEL Jones, born in Pennsylvania abt. 1810-13 (approximate) who moved from Marion County Ohio to Marion County Illinois sometime during the 1870s. Married 1) to Catharine Harman - parents of nine children. Catharine died sometime between between 1870 and 1880 - in the 1880 he shows up as being married to Nancy ? and two more children by him. Nancy is still in Marion County in 1900, living with her stepson George and his family.

I am hoping to find his date of death and see if there is any newspaper mention of his death.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Research in Ohio at OHS is possible swap!

James JUSTICE (b. ~1861) m. Nancy E. PORTER (b. ~ 1862, d. ~ 1954)

Married 1885. I think their deaths are probably after the dates that your books cover, but thought I'd ask just in case.

Would like any marriage, death/burial information you can find. Also, the parents names on the marriage book would be very helpful. It should be the same for all the JUSTICE's I've posted.

Thanks,
Sandy D.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to make a correction in the information here for anyone who might see the post. Emma/Emily Meador/Meadows Tate was my great-grandmother. She married Leander Tate, my great-grandfather in Jefferson Co., Illinois. They moved to Atoka County, Oklahoma, then later to Craighead County, Arkansas (northeast part of state, then moved to Nevada County, Arkansas (southwest part of state)before finally going back to Craighead and settling there (not in Mountain Home, Arkansas in northcentral Arkansas). Emily was killed in a tornado northeast of Bono, Arkansas on May 10, 1927 along with her daughter-in-law Addie Pearl Green Tate, wife of Frank L. Tate (my grand-parents) as well as one of Addie and Frank's daughters, Edith. My father was 5 yrs old at the time and was not injured in the tornando. Another sister and a baby brother were. I AM INTERESTED IN WHAT HAPPENED TO MARGARET JANE AND DILLARD MEADOR/MEADOW AND WHETHER OR NOT DILLARD WAS EMILY'S FATHER OR STEP-FATHER. PUTTING TWO AND TWO TOGETHER I HAVE DECIDED THAT SHE WAS BORN TO MARGARET JANE BEFORE SHE WAS MARRIED.

The following is a newspaper clipping from the Sandoval, ILL area dated Friday Oct.4, 1929. My Great Grandmother had saved it b/c the victim was her sister's son.

Cutting Scrape At Sandoval Sunday
A cutting scrape occurred at Sandoval last Sunday morning about 12:30 o'clock after a dance, which took place there. Dean Thomason (sic), aged 21, according to reports was cut by Elmer Kinney, living west of Patoka, when the two mentioned are alleged to have engaged in a quarrel.
Thomason was taken to the St. Mary's hospital in Centralia where fifty-two stitches were required to sew up his wounds. After the wounds were closed up Thomason was released from the hospital.
According to authorities the nature of the argument was not known, neither was it know what kind of a weapon was used in making the cuts on Thomason. Thomason bled profusely from his wounds, which are not considered serious.
Efforts are being made Monday to find Kinney but he was not apprehended that day.

My great-grandparents, Robert and Christine (Buehne) Wilson ran an ice cream parlor back in the early 1910-20s. It was at the corner of what is now N Broadway and Green St. Road. Remus Biagi operated the Broadway Tavern there many years later. My grandma, Mabel Wilson Hardy, and her family lived upstairs over it at the time. I am hoping someone has a photo of the building when their shop was in operation. I always heard Abraham Lincoln gave a speech from what was later their porch. I have the Mr. Ross's photo history book and the CD of it, but no luck there.
