Children: Bennet POSEY SHAFFER, Catherine Maud SHAFFER, & George David SHAFFER. Martha later remarried. No info on David's ancestry except that the family was "Pennsylvania Dutch."

I can't trace my Waldens/Waldrons back too far. What I have is Eldridge WALDEN/WALDRON b. abt 1800/1801 prob. in KY; res. in Dearborn Co. IN; Newton Co. MO; and in 1845 and 1850 he was in Madison Co. IL. Children: (born in IN except Charles) Robert b. abt 1823 IN m. Nancy HAMILTON in Madison Co.; son b. 1820 - 1825; Andrew b. abt 1830 m. Harriet REEMER in Madison Co.; Margaret b. abt 1833 m. William HAMILTON; Mary "Jane" b. abt 1836 IN ' m. Munson Hinman BLAKEMAN; dau. b. bet. 1825- 1835; Elias b. 1840 and Charles W. b. 1850 in Madison Co. IL.

I don't know when or where Eldridge died, but I suspect he died in Madison Co. IL. A friend looked at cem. recs but didn't find him. Thanks for any help you can give. I suspect that Eldridge Walden is related to the Eldridge family that lived in Madison and Morgan counties, those Hamiltons his children married were children of Polly Eldridge HAMILTON. Gail

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Martha Posey was Jubilee Posey's daughter. Jubilee Posey was the son of Bennett Posey and Rhoda Hobart. Bennett Posey died in Georgia and named his son Juball in his will. I do have a full family group for Jubilee's siblings if you're interested. Jubilee is a descendant of Francis (or Francois) Posey/Poschet, a Huguenot who probably lived in the Huguenot community in Great Britain before coming to Maryland. I have a TON of info on his forebears. I have had less luck with the Hobarts, at least which Hobart Rhoda belongs to, although I know the general family.

I'm looking for any descendants of Jubilee, in hope that they have more on his actual life, and maybe a photograph, since he lived way past the time that photography became common. He's kind of an interesting guy. I'm descended from Martha Posey who m. David Shaffer; and second James Thomas. Jubilee lived with her when he died. Gail

I have been able to trace my ancestors back to Resolved Waldron with the help of others. My family spent 6 generations in Harlem, Albany Co., and Cayuga Co., New York before moving to California in 1851/52.
