No proof but I have a gut feeling that Elizabeth Pruitt was the daughter of Isaac and Polly Strickley Pruitt residents of Greene Co IL. From what I can gather they had 6 children. I have the names of three. The other three are 1 male and 2 females. On the females was born between 1810 and 1820 and could very well be Elizabeth.
Several reasons support this:
1) The three known children one was Cascinda (or Cassandra) Pruitt who married John Bell Link. It was common practice to name children after other family members, Elizabeth and Isaac could have very well named their daughter Cassandra after Elizabeth's older sister.
2) Jacob Pruitt, son of Isaac, moved his family to Polk Co MO which is just south of Hickory Co MO. He may have sent word back to IL about the land down in that area and thus the Butcher family moved.
3) Isaac married a second time (first wife supposedly died). One of his children by the second marriage was name Francis M. Here is another name used by the Butcher's even though both Francis M's were born about the same time.
The Butcher's were still in Macoupin Co IL in 1860.
Also, Isaac Butcher had a brother Irwin who married Matilda Pruitt. Don't have age data on Irwin or Matilda, but if she ends up being the age for the other female child of Isaac it would make sense since Irwin and Matilda had a son named Isaac who could have been named not only for Irwin's brother but also Matilda's father.
Hoping to get some research done in Greene Co and Macoupin Co IL in the spring. Hopefully one place or the other will have the keys to Isaac's children.
