"It is with regret and pain that we chronicle the death of one of our highly respected citizens, Boone BOGIE. Mr. BOGIE was born at Silver City, Kentucky, Feb. 7. 1856, and departed this life Feb. 10, 1895 at his home in Lake City aged 39 years and 3 days. Mr. BOGIE was united in marriage January 6, 1876 to Miss Laura BYRUM, with whom he lived a quiet and peaceful life, until called upon to try the realities of another world. To them were born eight children, four having died in infancy, two sons and two daughters now with the mother, are now left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. The deceased had lived in this vicinity for almost fifteen years. He was an honest and upright citizen and was held in high esteem by all who knew him, besides a wife and four children Mr. BOGIE leaves a mother, four sisters and two brothers besides numerous other relatives, and a host of friends to mourn his early departure. Short funeral services were held at the Christian church Monday evening conducted by Elder John LOVING, after which all that was mortal of that husband and father was borne to the Kellar cemetery, there to await the final resurrection morn. The family have the sympathy of the community in this sad hour of bereavement. (Lake City, Ill., Feb. 12, 1895)." --The Bulletin-Sentinel, Feb. 16, 1895
