Looking for the parents of Francis Green Hill born 19 SEP 1800 in Virginia. Moved to Tennessee and married Rachel Wilson daughter of Benjamin Wilson and Jane Warnick on 4 JAN 1823. Rachel was born in TN on 1805 and died on 1844 in Macon County, IL. Francis Green died on 5 JUN 1885 in Macon County, IL. Francis and Rachel moved to Macon County, IL to settle and have nine children: Lucindy, Nancy Eveline, Harriet Elizabeth, Rachel Carolyn, Robert Henry, Margaret Jane, Benjamin Franklin, Hannah Louise, and James Edward. She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Jane (Warnick) Wilson. They had 7 children: Robert H., Margaret Jane, Benjamin F., Lucinda, Hannah L., James Edward, and Caroline.

Yes, an old post. I am descended through Rachel Carolyn.
I usually treat the LDS ancestry file as more a guide and a hint than any true documentation, They list Francis Green Hill with a Sept 20 birth date married to a ?Mrs Hill in 1823. They then list Francis Green's parents as Edward Hill, Born 1777 in VA married to Jemima Blankenship born 1781 in VA with the marriage on June 28, 1802 in Mecklenburg VA. The precision of the marriage date will (one day) lead me to look for the marriage record. For now, this is all I have. I would love to trade info with ayone else in this line

Death of an Old Settler
F. G. Hill, one of the oldest settlers of Macon county, died at his home near Boody last evening. He was born in Virginia on September 19th, 1800, and is therefore nearly 85 years old. He came to Illinois in 1827 and has lived ever since on the farm where he died. His wife died nearly forty years ago. His surviving children are Robt. and J. E. Hill and Mrs. E. McDaniels, Mrs. J. F. Muirhide and Mrs. J. Widick. The deceased has been sick for three weeks. The funeral will take place to-day at 2 o'clock from the brick church in Boody, Rev. W. L. Bankson, officiating.

I am also looking for more information and the Hill family. My great grandmother was Hattie Jane Hill.
