I recently purchased a box full of old paper items. One of the items is a teacher contract between Nina Baker and the State of Illinois School Directors in Macon County. The contract was signed on June 2, 1883 for five months (starting in October), in the sum of $40 per month. The contract is signed by three of the Board Directors (J. Wesley Myers and two others) and by Nina Baker.
