Thank you for your reply and the suggestions, appreciate them. Charles threw all of us off course by indicating in all his records that he was born in New York, which is in error. I was able to request Charles' records from Pontiac Penintentiary (previously Illinois State Reformatory) and learn the name of his father (Frank) and siblings which helped find many other records.

Charles was not born in New York, he was born in the German partition of Poland and immigrated in 1905 with his parents (Franz & Maryanna), his 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is listed on the manifest as Kazimierz. age 8. The family settled in the West Pullman area of Chicago,

In May of 1916 he and his girlfriend, Goldie Grout, were arrested for burglary. Goldie was given probation and Charles sent to the reformatory. He was paroled in July of 1918 and married Goldie in Rock Island 08-November-1918.

Charles and Goldie had four children Grover (Charles J) b. 1925, Howard James b. 1927, Jean Maria b, 1928 and Frederick b. 1930 0r 31. Goldie died in Kankakee 26 June 1931. Charles took the four children to St. Hedwig's Orphange in Niles, Il. The three older children were able to keep in touch, but have no idea what happened to Frederick, he may have been adopted. The children never heard from Charles again.
