My grandfather's WWII Registration Card lists the Illinois State Reformatory in Pontiac, Illinois as his home address and employer.

His name was Charles Frank Heuer, born Sept. 6, 1895 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Death unknown.

I'm wondering how I can go about obtaining his prison records so that I can learn how he came to be in prison, where he and his family were from, etc.

He has long been a 'dead end' in my research until this registration card recently became available.
