There seems to be a cluster of Irish families in Lake county, starting in the 1850 census that came from the Glenarm/Carncastle area of Co. Antrim. They are mostly in the Goodale/Grant township. Sacramental records are in Immaculate Conception in Waukegan, then later at St. Patricks in McHenry.
Confirmed: McGill, Darragh, Tweed
Suspected: Devlin, McGavick, Watt, O'Boyle, McVey, McGarrick.
Also note that the Archibald Darragh family arrived in NY from Belfast on the same ship (Sarah Sheafe, arrived New York 15 May 1834 ) as the William Dalziel, another Lake county resident.
Can anyone else confirm this?
