John,

Michael Meehan is mentioned, Telegraph Road (where my family's farm was), and the Yore family that a ggAunt of mine married into). I printed below what the Lake Forest, IL Chamber of Commerce wrote in their history section (to read all go to: http://www.lakeforestonline.com/ and click on Lake Forest):

In 1835, a year before the land ws legally opened, Michael Meehan built his homestead on Old Telegraph Road. A cluster of farms and homes grew up around it and became known in its early days as Meehan's Settlement or Corduroy (perhaps due to the construction of the log roads which had ridges and resembled the fabric) and later as Everett. A year later, Michael Yore arrived from Ireland and settled nearby. He was one of the few farmers to own horses and often helped his new neighbors clear their land. In addition, his home was spacious enough to become a stagecoach stop for travelers. Soon, the community was large enough to find a Roman Catholic congregation and in 1840 Yore donated land along Telegraph Road for a cemetery. In 1844 St. Michael's, one of the earliest Catholic churches in Illinois, was built on the west side of Waukegan Road. Postal sevice began to the community in 1846 and the first telegraph line between Chicago and Milwaukee followed the route of today's Telegraph Road in 1847.

In the meantime, new families began to move into the area east of the Green Bay Road and closer to the lake. The first reported Protestant service was held in the home of William Atteridge, near the present corner of Deerpath and Green Bay Road in 1850. The properties were included in the newly-formed Shields Township and would be part of the original plat of Lake Forest when completed in 1857, although the property of their neighbors to the west would not become part of Lake Forest until 1926 with annexation of nine square miles, including the Everett area.

Hope this will help you a little.
