I am transcribing a letter from Jesuit student S. Benedict Desmond, s/o William P. and Anna Catherine Kastert DESMOND, b Jul 22, 1885 in Galena, Jo Daviess County, Illinois. "Ben" evidently was a Jesuit theology student in Chicago when he contracted tuberculosis and was sent to Albuquerque NM for recuperation. He never made it, dying there Dec 26, 1907.
The letter doesn't say much other than to provide a snapshot of life in 1907 among his (and his mother's) acquaintances in Chicago--evidently the family of his god-daughter.
If you are researching this DESMOND or KASTERT line, you are welcome to see the letter on my blog. It is transcribed in three parts, beginning with the post here
