Do you have any information on Mahala Smith parents and siblings. I have a Rebecca Smith whom married Jacob Harrison Pritchett in St. Clair County IL in 1834 and they lived in Jersey (which was once part of Green)
Rebecca was born 1816 in Kentucky.

1850 census Jersey Co. twp 3 rng 13 p8
listed right above Lemuel 38 TN - Mahala 31 TN, is
James Smith TN 47 w. Cynthia TN 40

One page back is Absalom Smith 30 TN w. Susan 31 Miss
Children listed: Mary 6 IL Polly 2 IL Caroline 6mo IL

I will have to check out the Census and see if they lived anywhere near Jacob Pritchett and wife Rebecca Smith Pritchett.

Thanks. I had Jacob Harrison Pritchett's Mother listed as Elizabeth Breese, so this is family on His side not that of Rebecca Smith I think.

What about James and Absolum??? I'd feel pretty sure that James would be Mahala's brother.....

marriage 1: Charles Court 11-30-1851 in Jersey Co.
marriage 2: John Samuel Ryan 12-24-1857 in Jersey Co.
(Ryan died 9-29-1862 of measles in a military camp in Carlinville, IL)
marriage 3: Jeremiah Jiles 10-1-1865 in Jersey Co.

The last information of Emeline is on the 1880 Census for Richwoods twp, Jersey Co., Emeline is again widowed and living with several of her children. Paula
