Clemence and Johanna Pieper Munsterman
I am looking for some help on the above people... The information from a bio I found says that CLEMENCE and JOHNANNA PIEPER MUNSTERMAN, both born in Furstenberg, Germany, came to America from the village of Herste, West Fahlen, Germany, his occupation being a tailor. They had two sons, Adam and Antone... Clemence and Johanna were my 4th great grandparents.
I found their tombstones today at St. Mary's Cemetery and they are very hard to read... Clemence's stone says that he died in either Mar or May 8, 1860 at the age of 77 yrs, 4 mo, and 15 days which would put him born in 1782. His sons were were in 1846 and 1853. That would put him qutie old when his sons were born. In the 1850 census, he states that he was 38 years old which would put him born in 1812. Johanna's stone is not readable at all except I can make out the number 10 on it. There is also another stone next to theirs but there is nothing on it that you can read.
Does anybody have any information on this family? On the Jersey County rootsweb site, the cemetery listing has Clemens BORN in 1860 which is not right.
Thanks for any help that anyone can give...
