I have come up against a brick wall with this family. Ellen Millhouse or Milhouse is the daughter of Hiram and Mary Anna or Mary Margaret KRING Milhouse.

Ellen, or Elnora, was born in 1853 in Somerset Co., PA and went with her family to Murphysboro, Jackson Co., IL. Her mother died about 1860 as her father remarried Martha Sutherland on Sep 1860 and they had two sons, John Hiram Millhouse and Leroy Millhouse.

Ellen married William Darr and I can't find any other information on them.

Ellen had a sister, Sarah Millhouse, born in 1856 in Jackson Co., IL. I have no other informaition on her either.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I have no connection to your folks -- just a fellow genealogist trying to help. I do have a connection to Jackson Co., IL. My mom's family (Geppert) was on a farm in Murphysboro when the monster tornadoes hit on 3/18/1925 -- hundreds were killed in that area. No one in their family (3 adults & 10 children) was seriously hurt, but the farm was destroyed. They relocated to Cahokia in St. Clair Co., IL.

This is my family, thank you so much. I have followed them through 1930 as far as I could go and have put numerous queries out for further information on these families.

The children listed on the 1880 census are Delilia later called Lilia, Anna, and Miles, called Milen on 1880 census.

Thank you again, I have been searching since 1975 for this family and thanks to Ancestry and you have had success.

Now if I can make contact with a living descendant I will be elated.
