The many friends of Mrs. Sarah Gray were shocked to learn of her sudden death last Thursday. It is not known when she passed away, as her body was found lying on the floor of her home by her little granddaughter, Jessie Gray, when she came home from school. The aged lady had not complained of feeling poorly and it is supposed that heart failure was her cause of death.
Sarah Shultz, daughter of Samuel and Christina Shultz was born near Canton, Ohio, aug 22, 1852 and departed this life at her home in Milford, Feb 23, 1922. She was married to Solomon Gray in 1875. To this union were born seven children, three boys and four girls. The husband, one boy and one girl proceded her in death. Those life to mourn are Fred of Hoopeston, Roland of Keenesburg, CO., Myrtle Shepherd of Austin, IN., Maggie Smith of Amorita, OK., and Christina Smith of Alvin, ILL., three sisters, Miss Maggie Shultz and Mrs. Emma Scholl of Watseka, and Mrs Elizabeth Lyman of Martinton, also fourteen grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Deceased was baptized in infancy into the German Reform Church at Osnaburg, Ohio.
Mrs. Gray was a possesser of many friends and a splendid neighbor. She was exceptionally well known in and around Milford and will be missed by a large number of aquaintences.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Monday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. Snith, pastor of the Christian Church at Hoopeston. interement was at Sugar Creek Cemetary.
