Iroquois County Times, Dec 14, 1878
Mr Daniel Torbet, of Iroquois , died one week ago yesterday, of several maladies. He was last summer a healthy man, but in his wife's sickness he lost rest, and her death preyed upon him so that soon he was taken sick. He lingered on, sometimes getting better, then relapsing, until last week when the death of one of his children caused a last and fatal relapse. Mr Torbet was an esteemed citizen of Iroquois, being in the hardware business. He was about 38 years old, and had considerable property. His loss will be felt in the community.
