I wonder if anyone could provide me with any information regarding my ancestor Joseph Wells. He was born in Billinghay in Lincolnshire, England on Oct 9th 1836 and emigrated to Illinois in 1861 and settled in Cornwall Township, where he successfully farmed. I do have details of exactly where he settled and the exact area of land that he farmed. I have also found him in the 1881 US census, where it appears that he retired having made his fortune in farming (though he seems to forget he proper age). Also living with him was his nephew, John Wells, who married miss Francinia Barber in 1890. John became a school director inthe USA. John and Francinia had a son Charles in march 1892. I think Charles may have died in the 1960's (according to US records). I would welcome any information regarding Charles or Joseph and I am especially interested to find out if Joseph ever married.
