Hi. I am looking for the parents of Alexander Elbert Mick, born 13 Aug 1860 in Eddyville, Hardin Co.(formerly Pope Co.,) IL; died 15 Aug 1946 in West Frankfort, Franklin Co., IL. He married Priscilla Jane Gossett on 14 Jan 1883. Have run into a huge brick wall trying to find his family. Help!

Since Alexander Elbert Mick was my great, great grandfather, I also am looking for info. I too have run into a brick wall. I remember Priscilla Jane Mick, as I was 9 when she died. My mother lived with her for a while until her father, Charles Thomas Scott, put her in Odd Fellows Home. I think mom was about 11 or 12. Her mother Della Jane was killed in the 1925 tornado. I wish you luck.

Carol

Though not verfied, the information I have is that William H Mick and Melissa Ann Chancey (d/o Israel Chancey and his wife, Lynda) are the parents of Alexander Elbert Mick. This may give you a place to start.

Hope this will help you. Millard Eugene Mick was born in Hardin County, Illinois on Oct. 1, 1912 and died Nov. 4, 2006. The is a family tree on line but you have to contact them. Look under the community family tree for Millard Mick and it is the Il.Warren/CarmenFamilies.
Maybe that site can help you. I know that my Father was related to Millard somehow on the Mothers side. Millard was always called Red Mick in the county.

Julia, I think Malissa Ann Chauncey, b abt 1841 IL, was a sister of our Francis Chancy, b 1822 IL. We are pretty sure Israel and Lydia are Francis' parents. What concerns me is that they had 6 children between 1814- 1825, then there was a 10 year gap and they had 4 more children between 1835-1841. Do you have any more on this family? We may find the cousin connection one of these days. We KNOW we are related to Israel's father Roswell through dna testing. We have a perfect match with a family in Florida.
