I am looking for anything on Robert J. CUNNINGHAM, married to Nancy S. (maiden name not known). Their children were George R./Robert G. CUNNINGHAM, Mary Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM (m. John Milton BARTLETT 1st, then Alfred COLESBY 2nd), and Clarissa CUNNINGHAM. They were in the 1850 census in Joliet, Will County, IL. After that they lived in Grundy County, IL. George R./Robert G. was born in NY about 1835; Clarissa was born about 1845 in Joliet, Will County, IL, and Mary Elizabeth was born abt. June 1849 in Joliet, Will County, IL.

Their mother, Nancy S. Unknown was born in CT. Robert J. Cunningham was probably born in NY, although daughter Mary had varying places in her census' about father's place of birth, such as NY, Ireland, and I think the other was MA or CT. Robert was born in 1810 and Nancy was born in 1811.

Mary Elizabeth married John Milton BARTLETT on August 6, 1871 in Morris, Grundy Co. IL. They had 9 children.
Clarissa died before 1880. She married William PICKARD; they had 4 children.
Nothing more is known about George R./Robert G., other than he owned the plot his parents are buried in.

Robert J. Cunningham died Nov. 3, 1873 in Morris, Grundy Co., IL. He was buried November 5th in Evergreen Cemetery, in Morris. Nancy S. died July 8, 1871 in Morris, and was buried July 10th, also in Evergreen Cemetery.

f anyone knows anything about this family PLEASE e-mail me at Slainte0822@aol.com. Thank you!

I apologize. I did not see your response, Lea, until now (FIVE years later). Thank you so much for finding what you found. We had already seen the cemetery cards, but didn't see Robert Cunningham's probate record. I'm STILL to this day trying to find out who his parents where, what happened to son George, and what Nancy's maiden name was. I think I must be the only person researching this line :-(
