Hi, I came across your message while researching my own family that also lived in Carbon Hill. Have you had any responses to your message, or have you found any other information. I have a copy of the Carbon Hill Centennial book from 1992 and it has a little information about a Ruffatti family, and there is also a school photo from 1923 with a girl listed as Marie Rossio. And a 1938 class photo with a girl listed as Harriet Rossio. And a hand drawm map that shows the Henry Rossio family living on First Street. Is that any help? There may be more If I read through the whole book, but I don't know. If you like please contact me.

Have read your email and am interested in knowing more about the Rossio/Brido family. I sent an email to your day before yesterday, but I received no reply. I am new at this and will try this avenue now. My grandmother's maiden name was Rossio, and her mother was from Belgium and was a mid-wife. They were in Coal City, Illinois, and Carbon Hill, Illinoir. My grandmother had a brother Henry and, if I recall, sisters named Emma and Clara. There could be others whom I do not recall. My grandmother's father is buried in Thurber, Texas. Is any of this "hitting pay dirt?" Hope to hear from you one way or another. Thank you. Delores

Kathleen, I too am a grandson of Joseph and Emma. I believe her maiden name was Berta. I once visited the cemetery in Braidwood, IL where Emma's remains lie with her parents.

I have some additional information I will be happy to share. I am trying to identify Josephs father so I can get to his root family.
