Taking a looonngg shot!

I am taking a long shot here, but can't think of any other way to possibly find the information.
John Bowen was born in Illinois in 1886, he married Grace E. Marshall in Peoria Co., in 1904 and they had one son, LeRoy born in 1905 in Farmington, IL. Grace returned to her Mother in Iowa sometime prior to the 1910 Federal Census WITHOUT her husband.
She re-married in 1912.
I am trying to find out what happened to John Bowen. We understand that he re-married, don't know to whom, had at least one daughter, and she had a daughter who married a RUFFATO and they (the Ruffato's) ran a tavern in St. David, IL. I am assuming this would have taken place sometime around the late 30's or early 40's.
Long way around to get to what I am looking for. We would like to know where and when John Bowen died and where he is buried. I know nothing more about him other than what is stated above.
Any help ?? Marriage record of John and Grace? Divorce records available? Thanks for at least reading !!
Kathy

I am originally from Lewistown, and tho I don't know any Ruffatto's personally, I have always heard the name in the St. David area. Looking in a phone book that is about five years old, there was a Dominic Ruffatto listed in St. David.
Perhaps this could be a relative?

I'm sure it may possibly be, but I don't know anything about them, beyond the fact that John Bowen's daughter married a Frank, we believe his name was, Ruffatto. My main interest is in John Bowen, when he died and where.
Thanks for the response.
