I am trying to find out the same information.

I have 2 pieces of furniture that was made in Altamont, Illinois by the Geo. Hillemann Furniture company. My grandparents purchased them when they lived in Illinois.

Has anyone sent you any further information?
Was curious our pieces still have the manufacturer tag on the backs. And just decided to try and find data on them.

Both pieces are in great shape and are still be used to this day.

Any information would be more than I currently have. Was nice to find out that it existed in 1920.

Thanks and hope to hear back from you.

I, too, have a piece of furniture made at the Hillemann Furniture Factory that belonged to my great-grandparents. I would love to know more... My father-in-law was able to find a pictire of the factory and it's locations in Altamont, Il. What little I've been able to uncover also suggests Hillemann owned a lumber company and was quite wealthy. I would like to know more about the dresser I own - I just had it refinished, but the original handles had been removed, and I would like to replace them with the same handles, but don't know what I am looking for. I also would like to know approximate value for insurance purposes. Coincidentally, we live just an hour from Altamont, and my father-in-law lives just 15 minutes away. He is very involved in the county's history, but even he was was unable to unearth much information.
