Regarding:
"Drury (Drewry) Martin born 17 Nov 1787 or 1797 in South Carolina per one world tree. Was in the war of 1812 in Indiana. Married Sally Ramsey 06 Nov 1813 in Virginia. Moved to Edwards county, Illinois. Sally died sometime before 1826. He then Married Sarah Birks Ellis 15 Jun 1826. Then moved to Sagamon county, which included at that time Logan county."
Questions:
Place/date of Salley Ramsey Martin's death?
References to any of their 3 children?
References to "Ellis" who was Sarah Birks first husband (children)?

Could this be the correct Sarah?
John Ellis married Sarah Burks in Edwards county Ill on march 20th of 1819 in Volume A but no page number given. I found this in the Illinois Statewide marriage index 1763-1900.
You probably have the 1850 census info in Logan county Ill.
Drury Martin (given name very blurry) is 61 born S.C.
Sarah is 50 state born is not readable
All following children born in Illnois.
Carey E is female
Richard is 22
William is 19
Robert 17
Sarah 15 and Marion a son is 8.
In the later census John Martin has a son named Drury which is probably after his father, living in Mr Pulaski Ill.

Yes, you have found new information!
I have noticed that Birks is sometimes spelled Burks...
The 1819 date is new data to me for Ellis marriage to Sarah...
John Martin is a son of the older Drury (Drewry on headstone) but have not definitely figured out who his mother was...
I think he was born (about 1824) before Drewry's marriage to Sarah Birks (1825) but I suspect both had children when they married ...
John's son Drury had a brother Glover who is my Great Grandfather. John's wife was Mary Emily Mathews.
Thanks.

According to the 1825 Illinois State Census of Edwards County, Drury Martin (as spelled in the census) had one person over 18, undoubtedly Drury himself. He also had male child under 18 but no wife or other children listed. The thirteenth family down from Drury Martin is John Ellis. He is listed with one male over 18, presumably John Ellis. He has no male children under 18, but four females. One of these females is undoubtedly Sarah Birks Ellis, later Sarah Martin. This indicates John and Sarah Ellis most likely had three daughters and Drury Martin had one son prior to the marriage of Drury Martin and Sarah Birks Ellis Martin. Incidentally a transcription of this censes is available on the internet.

Thanks for finding this "piece of the puzzle".
Your analysis of the 1825 census was helpful too.
This brings me one step closer to determining the birth date and place of Drury's son Jonathan (John).
I still think Salley Ramsey was Jonathan's birth mother due to an 1813 marriage record in Franklin Virginia.
Much appreciated.
