Surnames: SMITH, WATT WATTS
My greatgrandfather, Floyd William Smith was born either 10/1882 or 1883 in Scotland, IL. I found him in the 1900 census in Kentucky, listed as the son of Margret Smith, a widow. He was listed with a sister named Tallahina and other brothers and sisters, Louise, Ralph, George, Major and Frank. Taking advantage of the unusual name Tallahina, I found her marriage record in Vigo Co, IN, and from that I found her father's name was Thomas R. Smith. This led me to a marriage record in Edgar County for Thomas R. Smith and Margret Watts on 16 Sep 1888. I am assuming that Floyd was the child of Thomas by a previous marriage. Every census record I find says Thomas was born in England. The family, minus Floyd and Louise was back in Illinois, in Champaign County by the 1910 census.
It's been a long twisted road to find anything about Floyd prior to the 1910 census when he was in Louisville, KY, and in the last few days, I think I've gotten close to pinning him down. Anybody with links or more information to this family, please let me know.
