If you've got access to that book, could you check for Rev. N.S. Bastion (1808-1884), please?
He and his wife Sarah Miller Bastion had a son, John Tenbrook Bastion, b. in the fall of 1848 in Paris, Edgar Co. (not sure of the exact date, because I'm not at my own computer). Bastion (sometimes spelled Bastian) was at that time a Methodist Episcopal minister, so I presume he was in Edgar Co. as a minister. He might not have been stationed there but have been there doing evangelical work. I've been unable to find any other evidence of him there. But the birth is listed in his Bible, which I have. Bastion was very careful about his listings, and I've been able to verify all the other births of his children. John, unfortunately, d. Oct 1849, Monrovia, Liberia, where the family were sent as Methodist missionaries. Sarah died Mar. 1850 in Monrovia as well. I descend from Bastion's second marriage, to Eunice Jewett (1828-1891).
I'd be interested in any info on Bastion's time in Paris or elsewhere in Edgar Co. I'm not sure if he was there later or not. After 1859, he was a Christian (Disciples of Christ) minister, all over IL.
Thanks,
