I want to order a death certificate from the state of IL for John Henry Schluter, whom I believe was born 3/1/1887 in Chicago to Henry F. Schluter and Mary Jochum, and died 12/1/1973, but I need to try to find out where he died in order to place the order. If I can't narrow that down, I am just going to put Wheaton IL as that is his last known address per the SSDI: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JP53-X6B
I believe this is his memorial at Saint Marys in Elmhurst: https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=9...
Fairly sure this is his birth record: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N7QS-SG9
The 1930 census has him in Addison: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSY9-TN2
and 1940 in Elmhurst: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KW42-5XH
and his WWII draft record shows that he was living and working in Elmhurst at the time, so he was connected to DuPage county for at least a few decades: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V1KN-72F
If there is a city directory showing his residence close to 1973, I will use that town on the order form, but ideally if a death record can be found I will use the information found there, but otherwise like I said above I will just put down Wheaton IL as his place of death. (Of course, there is no guarantee that he even died in Illinois at all, so I may be wasting my money).
Even better, if anyone can locate an obit for him indicating his parents' names, that would save me the $10 from having to order the death certificate in the first place, but after having no luck asking around at area libraries I'm not holding my breath on finding an obituary for him.
