Hi!

I am looking for a newpaper artical or any information on a house fire that happened in or around Chicago that I believe happened in the early 1940s. My maternal Grandmother was born in Chicago and lived in the city most of her life.

My mom never told me much about her mother's past expect that when she married my Grandfather, their first child was a boy who died in a house fire in the early 1930s.

So far I've found out that info is wrong. In the 1930s, my grandma was in her early teens. I think I found a marriage cert. for my grandma to a Glen W. Chapman in 1938 but I can't find any children from this marriage nor what happened to Glen. I'm sure this Glen isn't my material grandfather because on my mom's b. cert it lists a Wilmer Sell as the farther, but I can't find any marriage cert between them. Although I guess the boy could be Wilmer Sell's. I remember a newspaper clipping my mother had about the fire but can't remember the father's name or if it even listed the parents names.

Anyways, to get back on topic! I was hoping for someone to have remembered or would be willing to look up a fire where a young boy passed away either from the 1930s or 1940s before 1946. The parents names could be listed as: Hazel Cappelle/Chapman/Sell and Glen Chapman or Wilmer Sell.
