Hello,
In the Ancestry.com monthly update newsletter for Aug. 2011 that I received today, under "recently added or updated collections" there is "US Federal Census-1880 Schedules of Defective, Dependent and Delinquent Classes". I think I may have found my long lost gggrandmother at Norwood, Cook, Ill. in a June 1880 census in what I am presuming to be a mental institute? Her name was Mary Brewer, b. abt 1835 in Ohio. She married John Brewer in Peoria, Ill. in 1849 and was divorced from him in 1860. She was the daughter of Calvin F. White b. 1804 NY and died 1870, Stark, Ill. Can anyone help me with what institution she would have been in in Norwood in 1880 and also where I can get more info?
Thank you for any help.
