Ihave been loooking for my husbands grandmother ( Johanna Erickson,)who married his grandfather in Chicago,IL in 1912. She was supposed to born in Aalborg Denmark in 1886 but I cannot find her anywhere at all in all my searches except that she did live in WI until her death in 1971. We have a picture of her parents but no names. I will try to post them. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Sincerly

Do you think this might be her, from the Ellis Island website:

Johanna ERICKSON arrived New York 8 May 1908 (from Liverpool, on the Caronia), single, age 22, last residence and place of birth were both Kilstrip, Denmark, next of kin mother Mrs. O’Neill of Kilstrip, Denmark. Johanna was a domestic and her destination was friend J. Tange, 218 Frank Ave., Racine, Wisconsin.

What sort of information are you seeking?

Would this be the Johanna Erickson who married Holman Carlson in 1912? Marriage license can be downloaded through the Cook County marriages at the pilot site for familysearch.org.

When you know the exact place of birth, you can look for microfilm from the Latter Day Saints at the place search:

Her death certificate may have her place of birth.

In the 1920 census, the family was living in Kenosha, WI.

This does sound like it could be her, since Racine is only ten miles from this branch. We didn;t have any idea where she came from except Denmark. No names of any other family. Now I will have a real serch. Thank You Lou
