Though not directly related, the following is taken from an article dated December 2, 1899.
"The marriage of Miss Ida COPPAGE and Mr. John H. TURNER was celebrated at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah COPPAGE, 338 Swan street, Rev. Robinson of St. Mark's church officiating. The ceremony occurred at 9 o'clock last Monday evenning, and was witnessed by a large number of friends.
The bride wore a gown of cream colored satin, en train, trimmed with silk lace, and carried roses. She was attended by two maids, Miss Mamie B. CRAWFORD and Miss Belle COPPAGE.
The groom was attended by Mr. John HUDSON and Mr. L.O. SIMPSON, Mr. Julius JONES of Hyde Park, acted as master of ceremonies. Mendellsohn's wedding march was played by Miss Emma CALDWELL. The happy young couple will make their home at 5335 State Street."
