JOHN E. KERANS
Charleston- John E. Kerans, 61, of 409 N. 10th St. died Monday at 8:10 A. M. at the Charleston Community Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday at the Harper-Swickard Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kerans was born February 16, 1913 at Rardin, a son of John and Nola Cunifer Kerans. He married Pearl Titus August 26, 1932 at Paris, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Junior of Allenville, Ill., and Robert of Mattoon; three daughters, Mrs. Gene Hite and Mrs. Virginia Moore, both of Windsor, and Mrs. Barbara Coffey of Oakland; One brother, Kelley, Charleston; two half brothers, David Duane Phillips of Wilmington, Ill. and Keith Phillips of Belmont, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Eva Baker of Onawa, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Mr. Kerans was employed by Brown shoe company for many years. He was a veteran of WWII.

JOHN S. KERANS OF CHARLESTON DIES
Charleston, Ill. Mar. 7
John S. Kerans died at his home in this city today at age 65.
Mr. Kerans was born in Ashmore township on April 12. 1873, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Kerans. He had resided in Charleston a number of years, most of the time an invalid from rheumatism.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, John and Kelly, both of Charleston. a daughter, Mrs. Eva McClure of Whiting, Ind. ; three brothers, Grover Kerans of Champaign, Samuel Kerans of Ashmore; and Charles Kerans of Mattoon, and a sister in Ashmore.
