I see a listing on Ancestry.com for a marriage between Frederick J Holzwarth (born 1850 in Germany) and Amanda Sigler (born 1852 in Ohio) on March 22, 1870 in Clark County. However, even though "Amanda Sigler/Ziegler" is listed as "wife" on several census records and also on several of the children's death certificates, my MIL INSISTS Frederick had only ONE wife, her grandmother, Wilhelmina Ziegler. As you might guess, this is an upsetting possibility for my MIL that we want to confirm or deny quickly. Since I am in Dallas and not all of the records are online, I cannot look for them myself. Can anyone please help? Amanda is listed as the wife in the 1880 census but Wilhelmina is the wife in 1900. Based on the children's birth and death records, the marriage must have taken place between 1881 and 1885. If anyone can find anything about this or knows more, thank you!!
