According to a copy of Death notices published in the Terre Haute Tribune, 1 Sept 1938, it seems as though Peter and your Grandmother were brother and sister. Following is the notice:

PETER G. VLAHOS
Special to the Tribune
PARIS, ILL. Sept. 1 - Peter G. Vlahos, 47, Proprietor of a cigar store and pool hall on West Court street, died at noon Wednesday at his home. 1306 South Main street. He had been ill only a few days and was at his place of business Tuesday night at closing time. He complained of a severe pain in his shoulders, but was given treatment by a physician and died a short time later. He was born in Greece, but came to America with his brother, Peter H. Vlahos when he was about 16 rs old. He operated a cigar store in Danville for some time and came to Paris in 1914. Surviving are his widow, Velva, two children, a sister, Mrs. Demerot Bulleas, Danville, Ill and a brother Peter H., Paris. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Morrison chapel with burial in Edgar cemetery.

I type the notice as it appeared. I noticed that your grandmothers name is spelled slightly different.

I have some pictures of Velva and remember her well from my childhood. I also have pictures of her and Peter's headstones at Edgar Cemetery.

I just today learned that Velva's last name was Vlahos. She was the first cousin of my great-grandmother, Susan Clark Wyrick, and according to pictures I have from a close family member, Velva was the correct spelling. This is just too exciting. I'm attaching a picture, taken about 1920.

My great-great-gr'pa was Charlie Clark's older brother John A. Clark. Just recently I learned about Charlie's move to Clark Co, apparently with his John A.'s family. Did you receive the picture of Velva which I sent? I am going to Marshall this weekend and will see if I can find which Newell married into the Clarks and let you know. I also want to learn Charlie's wife's real name. I've seen Zilph and Silph, every variation.

I haven't seen the marriage license, but I have reason to believe that Emma Clark was married the 2nd time to Franklin M. Newell.
