According to a copy of Death notices published in the Terre Haute Tribune, 1 Sept 1938, it seems as though Peter and your Grandmother were brother and sister. Following is the notice:
PETER G. VLAHOS
Special to the Tribune
PARIS, ILL. Sept. 1 - Peter G. Vlahos, 47, Proprietor of a cigar store and pool hall on West
Court street, died at noon Wednesday at his home. 1306 South Main street. He had been ill only a few days and was at his place of business Tuesday night at closing time. He complained of a severe pain in his shoulders, but was given treatment by a physician and died a short time later. He was born in Greece, but came to
America with his brother, Peter H. Vlahos when he was about 16 rs old. He operated a cigar store in
Danville for some time and came to
Paris in 1914. Surviving are his widow, Velva, two children, a sister, Mrs. Demerot Bulleas,
Danville, Ill and a brother Peter H., Paris. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the
Morrison chapel with burial in Edgar cemetery.
I type the notice as it appeared. I noticed that your grandmothers name is spelled slightly different.
I have some pictures of Velva and remember her well from my childhood. I also have pictures of her and Peter's headstones at Edgar Cemetery.
