I am looking for any background on Emma Jane Dunn Milligan b.1842 d.1923 MtAuburn IL. The story I hear is that she came to the US with a grandmother, married 1859 at the age of 17, James S Milligan b.1836 IL. d.1884. I have pics of markers in the Milligan family farm plot.

Claudia, along with the Milligans we have in common, my direct line is the Dunns. My line of Dunns came from Launceston, Cornwall, England in 1857 but the orginal family members that came first landed in Philadelphia and some stayed there and started the Dunn Bros. Bank, and an off spring of John and Mary Dunn Grigg located there also and owned a huge amount of property and sent monies to the rest of the family in England. When several of the family members came to America, they came to Illinois first settling in and around Beardstown and Virginia, Illinois and some then settled in Mt. Auburn.

I have not seen an Emma Dunn in my line so far but I would bet a 100 to 1 that she is of the same line. I have tons of info on the Dunns if you are interested and maybe together we can figure this out.

I searched the list you sent of Dunns and fell that my Emma Jane is not of this lineage. As I told you the story that comes from my grandma and her sister, is she arrived in IL maybe Mt Auburn, with her grandmother from England. Now it is possible and probable that she was related distantly to Dunns already in the area. I'll keep up the search. claudia
