Ezekial & Martha (Laws) Rice had a son, Joseph U. Rice born in the early 1830's, possibly around 1834, in Champaign County. The Rice couple were from Kentucky and they went on to Monroe County, Missouri, where, in a few years, they had 3 more sons born there, Harrison, Gabriel, and James. Joseph U.
