Illinois Place Names by James N. Adams, c. 1989: Marbletown (Fulton Co.) P.O. est. 10-3-1870; dis. 2-28-1906; now RFD Havana. Havana (Mason Co.) is across the Illinois River from Fulton Co. and northeast of Marbletown. According to A History of Fulton County Illinois in Spoon River Country 1818-1968, Kerton Township is one of the smallest in Fulton Co. and situated in the southeast corner in the brakes of the Spoon and Illinois Rivers. Marbletown is there. If you draw a straight line east from Astoria to the Illinois River, you'd pass pretty close to Marbletown. There are two cemeteries in the township: Seahorn and Hickory. I have never been there but on the local PBS station, there is a program called Illinois Stories. In the opening shots, they have a sign for Marbletown. If you get onto a good aerial view map site, you can probably find it even if you can't locate it with a name search. Hope this helps. Kathleen (STANFIELD) COOK
