Surnames: Butt, Butts, Butte', Otte, Wittenmeyer, Rousch, Palmer
I am researching the Butt, Butts, Butte' family. A Minnesota look up volunteer recently provided this:
" 1900 Crow Wing Co. St. Mathias Twp. Ferdinand Butts b. Nov 1865 Germany; Annie July 1865; Mary Jan. 1893 Illinois; Aniel ? Apr. 1895 Illinois; Frank Oct. 1897 MN; Paul June 1899 MN He filed his 2nd papers in Crow Wing Co. MN in 1898 and his 1st papers in Stevenson Co. Illinois no date given."
Here is what I have on this family:
Frederick (Ferdinand) Butt b. 1865, Hokememolde near Berlin, Germany. Married, Anna Augusta Mary Baker, b. 1865, also Germany. Both are buried at Loran Church Cemetery, Loran, Stephenson County, IL: Frederick d. 1953, Anna d. 1922. Their children: Mary Martha m. Henry Otte; Emil Frederick Simon m. Addie Wittenmeyer; Frank m. Kate Rousch; Paul Walter Butt(s) m. Delma Mae Palmer.
This family lived somewhere in Minnesota, with at least two children, Frederick and Paul, being born in Minnesota, prior to their move to Illinois. At some point the family went to Canada, returning to MN. They are recorded in the 1920 Census of Jo Daviess County, IL, then moved to Carroll Co., IL, then finally Stephenson Co., IL, where they lived most of their adult life and are buried. Frederick (Ferdinand) Butt's obituary stated after coming to America that he first lived in Minnesota and was naturalized.
I know that their child Emil is buried in Stephenson County, IL, and Paul is buried in Carroll Co., IL. No other information on the other children.
I would like to make contact with other decendants of the Butt line. Any information you have on these people would be most appreciated. Sandy Reid sreid@alltel.net
