Louisa Keller was actually Louisa Macker, sister to my GG Grandmother, Elizabeth Macker McWilliams. I could never find anything on their father, but their mother, Elizabeth Ann (Baugh or Bach??)Macker, married Caryton Keller & they then had 2 more girls, Minerva & Nancy. I have a tintype of Marion Todd's family on their farm. I have been unable to find anything out about the original Macker or my GG Grandfater James McWilliams. Elizabeth & James had a son, Caryton Keller McWilliams 22 Feb 1855, but by the 1860 census, she is living with her mother & step-father. If you have come across them, let me know. Carol: On my husdbands side his gr. gr. gr. gramdfather has a daughter Susannah "Seven" 1851-1885 married to William Aaron REED, both buried in Elsah Cem. Elsah IL. She is the daughter of Absalom Worthey and Sarah Matilda "Craig" There is a e-book called "History of Green and Jersy Counties IL" pg 269 Absalom and children listed all 16 of them, and look on "Find a Grave" Absaloms family have many in Elsah Cem. and some are on a web page "Westfall Genealogy" Most of family livedin Jersey CO.

There are 2 Cemeteries on that road. Poor Cemetery and Hillcrest Cemetery are both on that road. I have both cemetery books for the county the most recent one was printed in 2011. I only found those previously listed.

I found Daniel W. David in the Calhoun Marriage book. Page 41.
Daniel W. David April 29, 1869
Nancy F. Webb 130-Charles C Curtis was the person who preformed the ceremony.

I only found in the cemetery books:
David, George C. 1844-1959
David, Pearl B. 1888-1976
David, Alfred Sidney Jan. 12, 1883- June 29. 1959 (Alfred wasn't in the 2011 book)
They were laid to rest in Long Cemetery, Belleview Precinct.

It may be too late to chime in on this question, but my Grandfather, Harold Francis James purchased a house on a hill outside Hardin and overlooking the Illinois river. The house had a bluff above it that contained an old indian and settler cemetary. My mother was born in the house in 1923, and it is still owned by cousins in the family. The house was always called L'Orient, and oral history says it was built in the late 1700s. If this sounds like the property you're looking for, I may be able to provide you with some additional information if you are interested.

To be honest I didn't know he was married twice until you informed me as such. I simply do not know the name of his first wife or the names of any children from that marriage. I was never able to find that information at the library sadly.

So, who was the 1st wife and were there any children??

Probably married btw 1880 and 1900.
There is a 20 yr gap in the census records for that time period.

Thank you so very much for your lengthy reply it means a lot you've taken the time to go through all of this hassle for a complete stranger and I truly hope that I can pay you back in any way shape or form.

With that said to get to your intial question as far as whom the informant was on John T/F Wilson's death cert that would be his wife at the time Mrs. Launa Jane Wilson but, by this time she was going to Jane. Certificate number 598859. The place and time of death was Menard, Menard county, Texas on 10 December 1930 at about 9 am.

TX Vital REcords -
The Texas Vital Statistics law to register births and deaths was not passed until 1903. Texas was then and is now a dual registration state which means the local registrars retain a copy of all birth and death records for the events that take place within their jurisdiction and the state retains the original of all birth and death records for the entire State of Texas. However, the statutes for registering these events were not made mandatory until 1926. However, many local registrars did not adhere to the statutes until the late 1930’s or early 1940’s. WORLD WAR I VETERAN

Frank M. Wilson was born April 7, 1890 in Junction, Texas to John J. and Launa (New) Wilson. His occupation was Rigger at Todd's Shipyard.

MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted September 5, 1917 in Junction, Texas. Served as Wagoner, Company "D", 4th A.D. - 4th Division. Honorably discharged August 29, 1919 at Camp Travis, Texas. Pension awarded on certificate C552 209.

He and Elma K. were married March 17, 1921. Their two children were Mrs. Launa Glenn of Portland, Oregon and Lewis Wilson of California.

Mr. Wilson died October 11, 1969 at the Washington Veterans Home at Retsil. His ashes were interred in the Home Cemetery. On November 14, 1970, Mr. Wilson's two aforementioned children, Lewis A. Wilson and Mrs. Launa Glenn, authorized the Veterans Home to remove the buried cremains of the late Mr. Wilson from the Washington Veterans Home Cemetery and send them to Williamette National Cemetery in Portland for reinterment.

Hello everyone, I keep hitting my head against the wall. My second great Grandfather John Taylor Wilson is giving me massive and I mean massive headaches. Maybe people from the Illini state can help me better. His death cert has his parents names blank and differing documents list his birth state as either Illinois or Mo so, I am posting this twice in two differing state forums. According to 'his" 1880 US census he was living in Hamburg, Calhoun county, Illinois. The problem is John Wilson is such a common name it's like trying to find a needle is stack of other needles. There is a John Jones 21 from St Charles Co., Mo in the Civil War Draft Registrations that fits his description, he was unmarried also a Frank Jones aged 25 also single.

In 1860 there is a Wm. Jones aged 18 farm laborer for Anthony Williamson, in St. Charles Co., MO. Maybe he was John William Jones.

There is a marriage for Page Harrell last name misspelled to Melinda Carty Nov 16, 1852 Lincoln Co., MO on Ancestry site.He was from Calhoun Co., IL at the time.

I am looking for any info on Horatio Maguire-according to family lore he is buried next to John Phillip Nachand in Hardin City Cemetery but I have not been able to verify that.Nachand 1814-1898 and Maguire 1837-? Maguire supposedly drowned in the Hardin area. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for more Information on the parents of Jesse Ray Uhrig, born about 1903, in Illinois. Her mother is listed as "Florence Uhrig" on the 1910 US census, and is widowed at that time. I have found a marriage record for a "Florence Stebbins" and "Thomas J Uhrig", but further research shows that this Thomas died in 1918, which does not match the 1910 census, which lists Florence as being a widow. If anyone has any information on Jesse's parents, I would be grateful.

I'm trying to get this straight in my mind.

There are 3 men, Thomas Winchester, b abt. 1803, Wm. Matthews Winchester, b abt 1804 and Sanders M Presley b abt 1808. The 2 Winchester men are bros, each one was married to Sarah Jane Crowell. Sarah Jane Crowell is a first cousin to Sanders Presley's wife Elizabeth Crowell.

The Winchester bros's. father was William Douglas Winchester, Sanders Presley's father was Valentine Presley.

Wm Matthews Winchester had 2 bros., Joel and Andrew married to Sanders Presley's 2 sisters, Hulda and Theresa.

Sarah Jane Crowell married first Thomas Winchester, abt 1820 he died abt. 1830, she then married his brother Wm. Matthews Winchester. Sarah Jane also had a sister Ellen who married a John Winchester, trying to find out who his parents were.

Okay now, Sanders Presley's daughter married a Wm Winchester b abt 1832 in North Carolina They are in the 1880 Arkansas census living in War Eagle, Madison Co Ar. would like to find out who his parents were. Their children were James and Sanders Terry Winchester and possibly Nancy, Sarah, John and Reuben.
