Also, I had a similar situation with a prison in Wisconsin. I lucked out and found an email and emailed the warden. They sent me all kinds of information about incarcerations dates and charges.

BCGS has microfilmed their newspapers and have an index up to 1920, I think. They are extremely helpful, so just call or email and they will direct you.
