Please help me solve this mystery!

I am looking for information on J. Thomas Weeden and family.
Very little is known about this family. I have not been able to find any records to document this family.

Here is what I do know about this family.

J. Thomas Weeden married Hanna Jane Fletcher.

Hanna Jane Fletcher b. 1837 Ohio. Parents: Townsend Fletcher b. 1790 Virginia, Susannah Ready b. 1798 Virginia.

Hanna Jane Fletcher found in 1850 US census living with her parents in Manlius, Bureau, Illinois. She was 14 years old and using the name Jane H. Fletcher.

Hanna Jane Fletcher d. 10 May 1864 and is buried at Forest Hills Cemetery in Wyanet, Bureau, Illinois.

Thomas and Hanna had at least one child, Lovina Weeden. Lovina, age 16 was found in the 1880 US census living with her aunt and uncle, Fannie and Jacob Kinnick in Concord, Bureau, Illinois. Even Lovina disappears from records after this date.

No other information is know about this family.

Any information about this mystery would be helpful. Thank you.

Townsend Fletcher dies in Bureau County 27 Sep 1884 and he had property in that county. Have you tried to locate a probate/estate record for him? Would be in Clerk of Circuit Court's Office, County Court House, Bureau County. Might list what happened to Hanna and daughter.Worth a try if you've tried everything else.

Good idea but Townsend did not leave a will as he had sold his farm to his son, William, before his death. Eventually, Townsend's widow, Susannah, found on same 1880 US Census, as last known location as Lovina Weeden, living with Jacob and Fannie Kinnick. Susannah also left no will.

I am in California so very difficult to get some information. I had thought of looking in newspaper archives.

I just find it strange that I cannot find J. Thomas Weeden in any census information. Possibly I am spelling the name wrong but have tried soundex and other spellings.

Lovina's mother, Hanna Jane Fletcher, dies in 1868. I have made the asumption that Lovina probably lived with her father, J. Thomas Weeden, after her mothers death as she has not been found living with any other relatives in census records until the 1880 US Census.

Anyway, thank you so very much for your input. It was a good idea.
