Hello; The PArker relatives in Tamms Village who owned the grocery store are Harrison and Maggie Parker (from the 1920 census). Harrison and Maggie both indicated that they were white on the census record. Harrison's mother was Hattie Parker (fron the 1900 census). She was born in April 1840 in Illinois. She was also white, according to the 1900 census.
Addie appears in the 1910 census of Elco, in Alexander County IL, with children Floyd, Helen and Harry (ages 6, 4 and 1 6/12 ) . Addie says that her father was born in Illinois, and that her mother was born in Missouri, so perhaps her mother was native.
There is an Adda (or perhaps Addie - the handwriting is unclear) Parker in Pulaski, Pulaski IL in 1900 with a birthdate of Dec 1886 living with her mother Jane Parker and one sister (whose name might be Laura - really bad handwriting) who was born in Sept 1890. Their father is dead, but he was born in Illinois, and Jane was born in Missouri, which matches Addie. They were all listed as white. Jane's mother was from Tennessee and her father was from Ireland, according to the 1900 census.
If you would like copies of the census records I have mentioned, email me. I have saved them on my computer in case you want them. My email address is
