Information I found indicated Mary died Sept. 22, 1993, at Winnemucca, NV, and is buried there. Her last name at that time was Hall, but I haven't confirmed the first name of a spouse. She had two other siblings, George and Ernest, who were after Raymond. She also had a son, Ernest L. Willey, b. 1924 and d. 2001 at Federal Way, WA. As a child he lived with the grandparents, no indication he ever married. I would suggest checking with your local library to see if you can obtain the obituary microfilm from Nevada on inter-library loan, or contact the Nevada Dept. of Museums and Culture at 775-687-4340. Successful searching.

I am looking for any information on my paternal grandmother. I know she was born in 1909 in Valley County Idaho to Simeon and Mary Alma Vickers. She had several brothers and sisters. She married my grandfather Leslie J McCoy in 1931. They had my father Eugene L McCoy in 1933. After she left him at an orphanage in Boise, where he was retrieved by my paternal Great Grandmother Jennie McCoy, she just disapears from any family discussion or history. I would just like to know if she remarried several times, or if she had children after my father. She was quite young, so, I am assuming she found some kind of peace and happiness after her marriage to my grandfather. If anyone thinks they might know any info on her please let me know. Her siblings names (some of them) were Argie, Ray, Pearl, Warner, and Blanche. Thanks so much!

Well I guess that makes Glenna and my dad step-siblings. My dad is from William's second marriage. He doesn't remember meeting Glenna or her siblings, so I don't have any information on them. I do have some information on the children from William's second marriage (there were 6 kids including my dad) if you're interested or if you want more background on William's geneology.

No, the birth records are only held by the state. You can request a certified copy from them, but you will probably have to prove relationship. The only other source I know is from newspapers, but that type of coverage was spotty and is generally not indexed.
John in the Great 208

This is a lot more interesting AND challenging. Were Mary's children Florence (1898) and Nellie (1900)? I cannot seem to find them in the 1900 census.
RC

If you can think of any (even tiny) bits of info on Mary that people in the past have mentioned, it may provide some clues that someone may come up with.

RC

----------------------------
Mary had two children out of wedlock one was born abt. 1898, other born 1900 after the census were taken this is my grandmother. The grandparents raiser theses two kids.
I dont really understand what you mean by "did she die right after the census (1900)". I saw her in that census at age 19 and SINGLE. If she is your great grandmother, it is quite clear that she did not die right after that census.

Who were her children? Husband? You have to come from one of them -- otherwise this is very confusing. (BTW, people always know more than they tell.

I am a Rickman descendant through my mothers line. Her father was Ralph Edgar Loux whoses parents were Andrew Jackson Loux and Samantha Elizabeth Rickman. Samantha's parents were Cornelius Rickman born about 1843 in Illinois, married Elizabeth Mowery 4 Aug 1862. I have little else on Cornelius, but I have quite a bit more on his brother John as I have been trying to find out more by going through this collateral line. John was a Civil War veteran according to a letter I received in 1978 from Sylvia Loux Gilbert, my grandfather's sister. Their sister Julia lived with great uncle John for a time after their mother died. In the Iowa State 1915 Census John is listed as a retired soldier of the Iowa 4th Regiment Calvary and his race is listed as red and white. The information I have gotten on the Rickmans in Iowa is quite interesting. My e-mail is njschwind@gmail.com. I would enjoy corresponding and sharing information. Thanks

Friends in this city (Manfield, OH) received cards announcing the marriage of Miss Ethel Sutter, formerly of this city and Charles Harvey at the home of the bride's mother in Idaho. Mr. & Mrs. Harvey have gone to California where they will live. The bride will be remembered as the young lady who made a journey to Idaho to ascertain whether she was Ethel Sutter or Ethel Hamilton, the daughter of a wealthy westerner. Her romance of being an heiress was shattered but the young lady, instead of pining over this disappointment, turned her attention to another romance which ended in a happy marriage.
Thanks for quick response. I had found these two, plus one other family that had sons named Robert at about the right ages, and needed some family info to decide amongst the three of them.
I'm descended from the Robert (identified with the middle initial H.), who from one reference was born in Boise. But there have been no other sources that referred to Boise.
I was hopeful the restaurant/diner and/or the Dines Coal company might help point to the right one. Critical time is the 1939-1940 years.
Thanks again, and let me know if there is anything else to help narrow the search down to just one.
Don Adams

I'll check with Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, but I doubt he's buried there, because it's about 35-40 miles away. 1910 census shows the family lived in North Payette Precinct, which would be toward Weiser. Another possibility might be Ontario, Oregon, which is only about 5 miles from Payette. I'll check there, also.

Since the obituary apparently doesn't list a cemetery, does it mention a funeral director? That might help me find something. I checked the cemeteries in Payette and Washington Counties (Payette County didn't exist in 1911), and no record at any of them. One small, old cemetery at Payette, Applegate-Kennedy Cemetery, has several graves listed "Unknown", and that's a possibility.

He was born December 9, 1910, also in Canyon County, Idaho. He was the son of John Roberts and Charlotte “Lottie” Rose. They were living in Payette, Idaho at the time of Carl’s death. According to Carl’s obituary, he died of pneumonia. I would also like a picture of his headstone. You should be able to obtain the Lewiston Morning Tribune microfilms on inter-library loan through your local library, or you can purchase obituaries from the Idaho Historical Library (www.idahohistory.net) for $10.

1863 - 1918 Death Records extracted from Boise Co. newspapers from "Idaho Genealogical Society Quarterly" are now at
http://www.usgwarchives.net/id/statewide/statewide.htm#extra...

This record contains death information not only from Boise County & the counties that were later split off from it (Ada, Canyon, Washington, Payette, Gem, Valley) but also from other areas in the state.

Thanks to Idaho Genealogical Society for allowing us to re-print this valuable, pre-death certificate information!

Sharon
Gem, Valley & Boise Cos. genweb coordinator
http://www.idgenweb.org/

Patrick Holliday

I am looking for information on Patrick Holliday, b. 1921. In 1930, he appears on a census for West Davenport WA. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army and listed his residence as Nez Perce Idaho, and further records indicate he settled in Lewiston Idaho. He was married first to Lois Pellegram, then in 1946 he married Elberta Flomer.
We are trying to piece together his history. We also have found a photograph that we believe to be him, and would like any confirmation of this (or additional photos). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
